Mobile Networks

Currently the UK has 5 main network carriers.  Not a lot of choice and perhaps the main reason why the EU commission held them to rights for over charging a few years back.  Have mobile phone charges come down, it’s a yes and no answer.  Generally the monthly charges for a decent phone are in line with the current rate of inflation.  So who is grumbling?  People who want more data and more data faster!  Yes, the future is all about data and voice over IP isn’t a big deal now.  Who wants to talk when you can share videos and make comments on social networking sites.

So where do the main 5 UK mobile phone carriers stand on this issue and why was the data tranfer introduced and more importantly how will this effect prices when 4G speeds and phones are eventually introduced in the UK late in 2011
